Lac du Lauzon

A majestic hike for good walkers, not to be missed – one of our favourites! Leaving from the parking lot at the bottom of the Jarjatte valley 4h45 walk for 810m ascent This hike offers the best views of the Jarjatte valley, Rocher Rond (highest point in the Drôme) and Grand Ferrand. Lac du Lauzon is a geological curiosity, a rare lake in the Pre-Alps between Vercors and Dévoluy.

A basin enclosing the lake, dominated by a mineral landscape, offers a natural, wild spectacle.alpine newts live in the waters of the lake.vegetation develops, particularly cottongrass, a protected species. On this hike, you’ll discover a wealth of plant and floral species. You might even spot chamois, vultures or golden eagles.
